What Is Kongerøkelse

Kongerøkelse is part of a long-standing Norwegian practice of scenting the home — this particular blend, created by Svanelaboratoriet in the 1960s, is gently warmed rather than burned.


It's made from natural resins, oils, herbs, and florals, blended to create a slow, grounding scent that fills the room without smoke or combustion.

The blend is placed in a dish above a candle, releasing fragrance over time. It’s most often used during winter, especially around Christmas, but many enjoy it as part of quiet evenings, rituals, or reflection throughout the year.
